Last June 2022, QYC brought youth and elders together on the land enhancing traditional activities and opening a dialogue between generations about our history, our culture,
our traditions and creating a safe space for talking about solutions on how to move forward together towards a positive future. It’s an opportunity to ask questions and propose solutions together, as well as creating relationships between generations.
Youth are learning, throughout this project, about historical events, past lifestyles, cultural values and Inuit strength through the stories of our elders. There were traditional activities such as beluga and seal hunting, discussions, stories, and more, as we wanted to help facilitate the discussions and the learning process through the event, by connecting with one another.
